There are cicadas in Indiana and Kentucky, too.We have cicadas in many parts of the Slipknot 25th anniversary 1995-2020 signature thank you for the memories shirt But I will love this States. It’s just North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia’s turn for their cicadas to emerge. In Illinois, we still have a few years before it’s our turn again. It’s not a pleasant summer when these loud, sticky bugs are everywhere., why? They are harmless, really. It’s just a nuisance we put up with every 17 years. I live near Chicago and we’ve had a few emerge in our yard this past week. I hate them! We don’t have the periodical cicadas here on the Texas Gulf Coast, just the dog day cicadas. I’m kinda glad we don’t, although I wouldn’t mind seeing an emergence just once., we always get a handful each summer. But the REAL cicada emergence, when the bugs are seemingly everywhere, is every 17 years. Our last outbreak in northern Illinois was in 2007. oh great, moving to NC. Thought I got away from those suckers(used to live in Midwest).
