I think it’s more to do with numbers as there are less per year group in a primary setting whereas in my school for example, we have approx 200 in Y10 which have to be split into groups of 15 I think. totally agree. This age take no notice of teachers and do what they want to do. The little ones are far more reliable and will respect the rules yes, unfortunately some do. It’s the minority who do this kind of thing, but in a school environment, this minority do tend to dominate the classroom! Not a good combination when in the midst of a pandemic! I believe older children are more likely to be able to spread it (apparently anyway?!). wont be better thats for sure virus will just get bigger if they go back to school just like them now at beaches mixing should be in lockdown tbh. That’s a sweeping statement I haven’t seen any groups of young people round here only families out walking.

That’s a strong statement to make. I have two teenagers who have only been out with myself for walks, they haven’t seen their friends for months. A friends two daughters were out walking together and got a mouthful of abuse from some guy in a car about social distancing, he didn’t even stop to think they were sisters. Probably something you’d do in my husbands high school it looks as if about 75% of year 10s will not be returning before September and I know lots of other schools where this is also the case.Sorry Sue Phillips that comment was not directed at you. Schools should not be open for any Primary children yet. Possibly the first to go back should be some Secondary children preparing for exams, but even that’s a push. Curriculums and exam grades can be amended for these children.
